How to Make Your Own CBD Tea [Ultimate Guide 2020]

If you are a regular tea drinker, you have already become familiar with the satisfying feeling that accompanies your favorite morning, afternoon, or evening cup of tea.

Tea is rich in antioxidants, and has numerous benefits for human health. In addition to reducing the risk of heart attack, tea can also help promote good immune and digestive system health. By adding CBD to your tea, you can multiply the benefits of both CBD and your favorite tea.

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a therapeutic cannabinoid found in cannabis. It has been gaining praise lately for its health benefits and non-psychoactive properties (meaning it will not get you “high,” like THC does). CBD is the mood-improving cannabinoid tea drinkers are starting to love.

Here, we give you the rundown on what CBD tea is, where to get it, and how to make your own.

What is CBD Tea?

Making your own CBD tea is a little more complex in comparison to making CBD lattes, and it takes more than simply putting a couple teaspoons of CBD oil into your tea. Doing so would most likely result in ineffective, and poorly tasting CBD tea.

Not all CBD-infused teas are the same. In fact, CBD oil-based teas are often less effective, because water and oil do not mix. In order to maximize the compound’s bioavailability (the rate at which the CBD is absorbed in the body), the CBD has to be able to dissolve into water.

The easiest way to add CBD into the contents of your favorite hot tea is with water soluble CBD. Water soluble CBD is specifically made with CBD beverages in mind, and created to increase bioavailability. This allows your body to easily ingest the CBD and allows for a faster onset of the effects and benefits that CBD provides.

Pre-Packaged CBD Tea

If you aren’t the DIY type, an excellent brand of CBD tea is Buddha Tea. Buddha Tea has taken the mystery out of crafting the most bioavailable cup of CBD tea on the market. This brand has discovered a process that transforms CBD oil into a powder that is included into their organic teas. All you need to do is heat water to a desired temperature, drop the tea bag in, give it some time, and then enjoy.

Buddha Tea’s Chamomile Blend CBD Tea has earned global popularity for its calming effects. This CBD tea uses all organic ingredients, including healing lemon balm, a hint of soothing lavender, and 5mg of water soluble CBD in each tea bag. This CBD tea is relaxing, calming, and is great for nighttime use since it helps with sleep, mood stability, anxiety, and inflammation.

Make Your Own CBD Tea

If you want to create your own CBD tea, using water soluble CBD is your best bet. The Hemplucid’s Water Soluble CBD Oil mentioned below is full-spectrum, so it is potent and high quality. Full-spectrum CBD is often more effective in comparison to CBD isolate because it contains a robust combination of multiple compounds derived from the cannabis or hemp plants.

A water soluble product we especially love is Hemplucid’s Water Soluble CBD Oil. This CBD oil is formulated using an ultra-purified, de-waxed whole-plant CBD concentrate, and is bonded to organic vegetable glycerin to create sweet, sugar free, and rapidly bioavailable CBD. Because of this, the Hemplucid Water Soluble CBD Oil is perfect for making your own CBD tea.

If you’re more of the true DIY type, the best way to enjoy a great cup of CBD tea is to add dry cannabis or hemp material to hot water. However, this is not considered true CBD tea, because the heat produced by the boiling water only extracts the plant’s terpenes, not its cannabinoids. The terpenes can still provide a number of health benefits, but it is not considered stand-alone CBD.

Terpenes, like CBD, are believed to have a therapeutic effect on pain, inflammation, anxiety, and more. If you want to get the cannabinoids out of the plant material, however, you will have to follow a more complex process.

To extract and activate the cannabinoids, your fresh plant materials need to go through a decarboxylation process N(the heating of raw cannabis). First, you heat the plant material (ideally, in your oven) for 20 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius. Then, raise the temperature to 115 degrees Celsius, and leave it in the oven for at least an hour. Lastly, take your now-baked plant materials out and steep them in hot water to create your refreshing and therapeutic tea.

Here are the ingredients and directions for making a delicious CBD tea:

  • 6 grams freshly ground hemp stems
  • 2 cups full-fat milk like coconut, hemp or whole dairy
  • ¼ cup (melted) coconut oil or ¼ stick of softened butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of water
  • Loose leaf chai tea (or any other flavor) and tea infuser ball
  • Honey and cinnamon

  • Blend hemp stems, milk, oil and vanilla extract until combined
  • Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for an hour
  • Add mixture to saucepan, along with the water from the infuser full of tea leaves
  • Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes (do not let it come to a boil)
  • Pour into a mug and add cinnamon and honey

It is important to note that cannabinoids (like CBD) need fat to be absorbed in order to feel all of the relaxing effects of CBD. Therefore, it is recommended that you drink your CBD tea after a meal, rather than on an empty stomach.

While it is recommended that you use water soluble CBD, Daintri offers a wide variety of CBD products that can be easily added into your favorite tea, including CBD Honey Sticks, CBD Coconut Oil Sticks, Calming CBD Tinctures, and more.

  • Tea is rich in antioxidants, and can help improve digestive and immune system function
  • CBD tea can help with sleep, mood stability, anxiety, inflammation, and more
  • You can make your own CBD tea, or buy pre-made CBD tea bags like Buddha Teas
  • If you choose to make your own CBD, it is recommended that you use water soluble CBD so that the CBD can be easily absorbed into your body.

Buying CBD Online vs In-Store [Ultimate Guide 2020]

The way you purchase CBD can be very important. Whether you are buying in-store or online, it is always advised that you check to see if the CBD you are buying is legitimate.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is continuing to make headlines in the wellness and medical world for its multifaceted functions. CBD has proven itself to be an effective treatment and can help relieve pain, anxiety, inflammation, mood disorders, degenerative diseases, and much more.

Although CBD’s newfound popularity is great, it also comes with some cons. As always the case with a big boom in the consumer market, there is surely to be false products. There is an increased probability that stores and brands will sell CBD of poor quality. As a matter of fact, some of these products may not contain any CBD at all.

This is not to scare you, but inform you to be conscience of where you are purchasing your CBD. It is important to buy on the foundation of trust, safety, credibility, and of course, effectiveness.

For this reason, we are giving you the real reasons why getting your CBD products online may be the better option in comparison to buying CBD in stores.

Why is Buying Online Safer?

Unless you are in a specialty health food store or CBD shop – which is not the average experience – buying CBD online seems to outweigh buying CBD in-store, especially if you are new to CBD and don’t know much about it.

Online stores are obligated to have the ingredients and production practices stated on their product descriptions and labels. Always make sure that you can easily find this information before you purchase CBD products. Another great thing about shopping online is that you can take your time to read and educate yourself on the product that is being sold. In addition to this, reviews and testimonials from previous customers are easily accessible.

When you buy online, you can be sure to expect more buying options, transparency about inventory, and the ability to research prices and customer reviews, as well as get the scoop on promotional offers.

Here, we break down the pros and cons of both online and in-store purchasing experiences.

Pros of Buying Online

  • Ability to take your time reading, researching and learning about the product or company.
  • Ability to shop and compare with other retailers on price point and quality.
  • Huge variety of products at your fingertips.
  • More discounts and promotions available.

Cons of Buying Online

  • Not being able to physically see, smell or touch what you are buying.
  • Difficulty finding a trusted source. Luckily, you have already found a credible online retailer – Daintri!

Pros of Buying In-Store

  • Instant access to product(s), no waiting on shipping.
  • Ability to see, smell and touch the product you are buying.

Cons of Buying In-Store

  • Only open set hours.
  • Driving, parking, waiting in line and other general annoyances.
  • Limited knowledge and information: A salesperson who may or may not be educated on CBD could just be trying to make a sale, not caring about the integrity of the product.
  • Higher prices due to overhead.
  • Stores that sell real CBD can be difficult to find.

Another thing: Depending on who you are and what kind of mood you’re in, the human interaction aspect of buying in-store could either be a pro or a con, depending on the knowledgeably of the vendor.

On the online side, a lot of people like to support small businesses (looking at you millennials!). Keeping in mind that CBD is a new and rising product, buying online serves a greater purpose in the supporting as many online CBD retailers (like Daintri!) are startups.

Final Thoughts

Buying CBD products both online and in-store comes with their share of perks. While each channel brings unique value to the customer, buying online, in most cases, does fare safer than buying in-store because websites are required by law to provide full disclosure to the customer on product quality and ingredients, as well as manufacturing and production processes.

We are not knocking physical storefronts or in-person interaction. We like people and support everyone trying to make the world a better place with CBD!

It’s our job to provide truthful and accurate information in the realm of CBD as it pertains to health, which is precisely what we are doing with this post and every other post for that matter.

If you have questions about buying online, please let us know!

How CBD Dramatically Increases the Survival Rate of Cancer Patients [Ultimate Guide 2020]

Young woman visiting her mother with cancer indoors

According to a new study, spotlighting the potential for human cancer treatment, mice with pancreatic cancer treated with a combination of CBD and chemotherapy survived nearly three times longer than those treated with chemotherapy alone.

CBD, more formally regarded as cannabidiol, is the non-intoxicating compound found in the cannabis plant. It has already been showing it’s ability to improve common side effects of chemotherapy, like nausea and vomiting.

CBD’s latest results are showing even more justification for testing in human cancer patients. This research would build on prior animal research that has uncovered CBD’s anti-cancer properties.

The Rundown

CBD has been approved for use in clinics in the United Kingdom (UK), meaning that medical professionals and scientific researchers may test the effects of the therapeutic compound in human clinical trials.

As for the United States, progress is well underway, as the FDA just approved the first CBD-based medication to treat severe forms of epilepsy in children.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to treat. It is among the deadliest forms of cancer in the world, in terms of overall cancer survival rates. According to the American Cancer Society, patients with a one-year survival rate make up 20 percent of pancreatic cancer patients, while the five-year survival rate is just below 7 percent. It is the 12th most common cancer globally.

Considering treatment of the deadly cancer, the life expectancy for those with pancreatic cancer has barely changed in the last 40 years because there are very few treatments available. This statement was reported by Dr. Marco Falasca, lead researcher from Queen Mary University of London, in a recent press statement, who added that “the discovery of new treatments and therapeutic strategies is urgently needed.”

Getting back to the actual animal study, the results concluded that the survival rate of mice with pancreatic cancer had tripled after being treated with a combination of CBD and chemotherapy. This constitutes the dire need of continued research of CBD in the medical field. Medical advances, in something as serious of a matter of life and death, are on the horizon, all thanks to the plant-based cannabinoid, CBD.

The Facts From the Study:

  • The data from the CBD study in mice indicated inhibition of pancreatic cancer cell growth in cell culture by CBD.
  • The mice susceptible to pancreatic cancer given the CBD + chemotherapy treatment prolonged survival 3x the amount as mice given chemotherapy treatment without CBD.

To date, and as we continue to see progressions of the healing compound on humans, studies have linked CBD to significantly reducing pain and anxiety, easing migraine symptoms, improving stroke recovery and decreasing seizure severity and frequency.

Stay tuned to see if and when this study will be replicated in humans.

  • Scientific trials on mice show CBD’s massive potential for helping with cancer treatment.
  • Research suggests that cancer treatment is most effective when combined with the force of CBD.
  • Those that used CBD and chemotherapy survived nearly three times longer than those treated with chemotherapy alone.
  • CBD is non-psychoactive and does not produce the “high” that is associated with the consumption of marijuana.

Energy & CBD [Ultimate Guide 2020]

People search for energy in various ways. Some reach for that extra cup of coffee, while others take supplements or vitamins for that extra boost. Now, research indicates that CBD could be a great way to have natural, sustainable energy throughout the day.

One of the most important things about CBD is that is it natural. With other substances or caffinated beverages, you could be putting your health and heart at risk. Not to mention CBD can benefit consumers in multiple different ways.

A lot of people are starting to utilize CBD for its energizing effects. Everyone from professional athletes, to the common middle class worker can potentially get an energy boost through the use of CBD. When you just can’t seem to stay awake, or are having trouble focusing, it may be time to see if CBD is right for you.

Another great thing about CBD is it is non-psychoactive, so no need to worry about the “high” that is associated with the consumption of cannabis. No matter how much you take, CBD can not get you high.

Before we discuss the many ways in which CBD can give you energy, it is important to know how CBD works.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD works with our bodies Endocannabinoid System, the system responsible for regulating homeostasis and general internal body conditions. Within the endocannabinoid system are receptors (CB1 and CB2 receptors) that bind and communicate with the cannabinoids prevalent in CBD.

The cannabinoids in CBD help further activate these receptors to provide a variety of benefits. Research indicates that CBD can be utilized to treat symptoms prevalent in conditions such as anxiety, IBS, PTSD, chronic pain, and more.

Aside from being a great remedy, CBD has also been found to promote good general health and well being. CBD has been used by many as a pre-workout supplement, or as a focus boosting marvel.

CBD Gives You Energy

From espressos and herbal teas, to energy drinks and high-powered supplements, people will try everything on the market to get that extra boost of energy.

Although these products may work at first, they tend to wear off as the day goes on. This leads to even more caffeine use, or going back to that old, tired self.

CBD provides a more effective, long term solution so you can stay alert and full of energy. CBD is natural, and won’t create that “crash” that is associated with sugar highs and the fleeting effects of caffeine. This way, CBD can help you power through the rest of your shift, or that tough exercise regimen.

10 Reasons Why People Love Taking CBD for Energy

1. CBD Starts Your Day off Right

The most common start of the day usually includes a cup of coffee. Although this warm cup of coffee may provide you with some energy, it could completely wear off within the hour. The longevity of caffeine is notoriously short lived.

The crash associated with the intake of caffeine is evaporated with the use of CBD. CBD Consumers have reported feeling a longer, more sustained feeling of focus in comparison to when they were drinking coffee. Try taking your favorite  CBD supplement shortly after waking up to provide your body with the energy you need for your day.

Still want that warm cup of coffee in the morning? No problem, try making your own CBD latte by stirring a  water-soluable CBD oil in your coffee.  This allows you to enjoy the warm taste of coffee in the morning, without the dreadful crash later.

2.CBD Aids in Focus and Productivity

CBD has the ability to boost energy levels by strengthening cells that contribute to that groggy afternoon feeling. CBD can be a great way to recharge your brain and body throughout the day.

CBD can help you stay on track by increasing brain function. In doing so, CBD influences brain nueroactivity in some regions of the brain. Jotting down your to-do list, making phone calls and sending emails suddenly brings a better sense of accomplishment.

3.CBD Can Enhance Your Awareness and Memory

Do you ever have trouble concentrating or remembering things? CBD may be able to help. Research indicates that CBD has the potential to enhance your cognitive awareness and get rid of that mid-day brain fog.

In addition to this, CBD may benefit your memory. Numerous clinical trials have been conducted to see if CBD can inhibit the effects of Alzheimers disease. CBD may be an effective treatment for Alzheimer’s and memory loss due to it’s antioxidant properties. For this reason, CBD is able to prevent the increase of oxygen levels in the brain, a symptom that is very prevalent in the onset of Alzheimer’s.

4.CBD Can Improve Your Mood

CBD is a powerful antioxidant that interacts with your body’s serotonin receptors. Serotonin, also referred to as the “happy hormone,” can greatly impact your mood, social behavior, and much more.

Because of this, CBD can act as a wonderful mood stabilizer and promoter. Maybe you’re feeling down because you didn’t get enough rest, or are simply having an off day. CBD may help contribute to a positive state of mind and could turn your bad day around.

5.CBD Can Improve Digestion

Many probiotic supplements claim that they can aid in good digestive health, but often result in unwanted side effects. These supplements can result in stomach pains, or even irritated bowels.

CBD acts upon your digestive system in a much more comfortable way. People suffering from IBS or traditional stomach pain may find relief through the use of CBD. In this way, CBD is similar to taking probiotic-rich foods such as Greek yogurt, sauerkraut, and miso soup. Overall, CBD can aid in a much more healthier digestive system and provide you with better gut health.

6.CBD Can Give You a Pre-Workout Boost

CBD has the ability to act as an effective pre-workout supplement. Whether you’re a 5 am go-getter, a midday run kind of person, or prefer to break a sweat after the workday’s end, CBD can provide you with the boost you need.

Professional athletes have dabbled in the CBD market for this reason, implementing the compound into their protein shakes and health regimens. In addition to this, CBD is becoming popular for post workout recovery and muscle strain. This allows for quick healing and increased stamina for intense daily workouts.

7.CBD Can Boost Your Metabolism

As CBD works with the body’s endocannabinoid system to promote homeostasis, it benefits your body in numerous ways. In addition to helping with inflammation and other biological functions, CBD can also have a positive influence on your metabolism.

Having a strong metabolism is crucial to being in good health. The human metabolism is responsible for numerous functions in the body, including turning your food into energy.

8.CBD Can Eliminate Anxiety

Interestingly, anxiety has a lot to do with energy. Anxiety is capable of making people feel lazy, or even hopeless at times. Extra feelings of worry and stress can contribute to a lot of wasted energy. By aiming to reduce feelings and symptoms of anxiety, people can start to feel more confident and less stressed when living their daily lives.

CBD is paving it’s way as a great anxiolitic supplement, anxiolitic meaning that it is capable of reducing symptoms of anxiety. Many clinical trials are in progress to determine the characteristics of CBD and anxiety treatment.

However, many consumer reviews support the basis that CBD can be used to treat anxiety. Those that have tried CBD for anxiety have reported a significant decrease in panic attacks, restlessness, and fatigue.

9.CBD Can Improve Skin

Although skin doesn’t necessarily have to do much with energy, having clear and smooth skin can greatly boost a person’s confidence. The most popular forms of CBD skin care come in cleansers, scrubs, lotions, and more. It is yet to be determined if other forms of CBD, such as vaping, have a significant impact on the skin.

CBD-infused beauty products are on the rise, with consumers making special note of the compound’s inflammation-taming abilities. CBD can be used to remedy many different skin issues, such as blemishes, acne, rashes and more.

Having radiant skin is a sure way to boost confidence and energy altogether.

10.CBD Can Prevent Headaches

Headaches can put an immediate stop to your day if they become severe. Not only are they painful, but they can halt your productivity greatly. Many people that suffer from migraines state that they cannot get anything done due to their symptoms.

CBD is known for its incredible pain relieving properties. We have heard multiple success stories of people using CBD as a means to prevent (or vanish) their chronic headaches or migraines. To do so, take your favorite CBD supplement or vape, or try rubbing CBD oil on your temples when you feel a headache coming on.

Again, because CBD is an amazing anti-inflammatory agent, it has the potential to treat just about any kind of physical pain. And while this one doesn’t exactly have a direct tie to energy, we’re calling a spade a spade, because anyone who experiences headaches knows that it can suck the energy right out of you.

  • CBD can be used as a great supplement for energy, without the dreadful crash later.
  • CBD is natural and has little (if any) side effects, making it ideal for daily use if needed.
  • CBD is non-psychoactive and will not produce the “high” associated with the consumption of cannabis.
  • Professional athletes everywhere are incorporating CBD into their protein shakes and daily health regimens.
  • CBD can be used to treat a variety of disorders and can be used for pain treatment.

How Hemp Can Reduce our Carbon Footprint [Ultimate Guide 2020]

Young smiling woman in a hemp field checking plants and flowers, agriculture and nature concept

CBD, or cannabidoil, has been gaining praise lately for its long list of medical and therapeutic benefits. But did you know its source, hemp, has the potential to greatly reduce our carbon footprint?

Our planet is constantly undergoing stress due to external factors such as deforestation, air pollution, waste, and more. We are constantly putting our Earth at stake and are in need of more efficient vehicles, environmental friendly packaging, and much more. Over time, we have truly wreaked havoc on our planet.

Behavioral and lifestyle changes, like becoming vegan, or riding your bike to work, can greatly help the environment if we all do our part. We need to be conscious of the environment at all times in order to have a green Earth in the future.

There are many things that we can do to help save our planet. A lot of items are starting to be integrated with hemp to reduce waste. Other strategies, however, include reducing gases from industrialization, and reducing our consumption of plastic.

Here, we give you 5 major ways hemp can save our planet. But first, let’s get a clear understanding of what hemp really is:

A Little Background on Hemp

Hemp is the fiber and seed part of the Cannabis Sativa L. plant that has long been grown and cultivated for medicinal reasons. In addition to this, hemp is commonly use for its strong and versatile properties. Hemp is not to be confused with marijuana, which is the flower cousin of the hemp plant.

The fiber and seeds in hemp are of incredible value to the world for industrial purposes, clothes, paper, and more. But consuming it is proving to be (and has proven for centuries) extremely therapeutic for a variety of health reasons. This is why CBD is so great – it is derived from hemp, as most quality CBD (and THC free) products are.

A hearty plant that grows very quickly in “diverse soil conditions,” hemp is often referred to as a “cash crop” due to its many beneficial manufacturing uses. Industrial hemp has been the desired fiber for the manufacturing of rope, canvas, paper and clothing.

After hemp was deemed illegal from the passing of the marijuana prohibition act, the laws have since been changed. Hemp production and farming is now legal for industrial purposes. Meaning hemp oils (CBD), hemp plastics, and hemp building materials can be purchased on the market, furthering the positive environmental revolution.

Industrial Uses for Cannabinoids

Hemp has been labeled “the industrial variety of cannabis produced for non-drug purposes,” which has been used in commercial products like skin care for many years.

From a nutritional aspect, hemp seeds can help support the immune system, cardiovascular system, brain function, skin health and digestive health.

Here are five uses and replacements that hemp can aid in a better, brighter future for all.

Hemp Plastic

Plastic is the environmental villain in society today. Plastic products (think shampoo bottles, cups in your kitchen, and trash bags) are derived mainly from petrochemicals – chemical products from petroleum – and are found in everything from the food we eat, beauty products we use, to household cleaners and more.

According to recent studies, it takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to break down. So, in just one year, 500 billion plastic bags are used in the world, with that plastic constituting 90 percent of trash and debris on our beautiful ocean’s surface.

On the bright side…

Studies have found hemp-based plastics are 5x stiffer and 2.5x stronger than traditional plastic made from polypropylene. Hemp plastic is currently being utilized by some companies in the automobile sector, as well as in consumer products like sunglasses and dog toys.

Hemp Building Materials

Building homes (or other residential or commercial places) out of hemp is an excellent way to utilize the renewable resource. Hemp building materials are better for your health, they withstand the test of time, are much better quality than their non-renewable counterparts, and they are much easier on the environment.

Including everything from plastic, fiberboard, and wallboard to roofing tiles, insulation, paneling and bricks, hemp building materials are much greener options for construction purposes.

Hemp can replace synthetic, petroleum-based and other high-embodied energy materials to produce high performance products that are better for everyone, everywhere. Using hemp-derived building products would reduce building costs and save tons of trees.

Hemp Clothing

You have probably seen brands on social media lately boasting about their sustainable handbags or vegan leather leggings in pursuit to help the environment.

Hemp cloth is perhaps one of the plant’s most well-known uses, witnessed from your bathroom towels to your skinny jeans. It is definitely the most eco-friendly thing to put on your body due to its clean and safe production process. Hemp does not need to use nearly the same amount of pesticides as other crops. In addition to this, it even uses less water in comparison to cotton production. To put things into perspective, it takes 1 acre of hemp to produce 2-3 acres worth of cotton.

Clothing material made from hemp isn’t only stronger than cotton; it’s lightweight, absorbent, UV resistant, and flame resistant.

Hemp Nutrition

Hemp has officially been labeled a super-food. Wellness fanatics and nutrition gurus will be pleased to know that they can sprinkle hemp seeds onto their avocado toast and into their acai bowls.

Hemp is also known as an excellent source of protein, and is packed with 20 amino acids used in the body. Hemp itself is very rich in Vitamin E, one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants. Hemp seeds contain the perfect balance between the essential fatty acids (Omega 6 and Omega 3) that our bodies need to stay happy and healthy.

Studies show that incorporating hemp seed oil (CBD!) can strengthen our immune system, improve heart health, promote hormone balance, reduce inflammation, improve our focus and mood, protect our brains from degenerative diseases, and our minds from depression.

Don’t forget that CBD is derived from hemp, so the two go hand-in-hand in supporting our bodily systems and functions.

Hemp Farming

Hemp grows in a variety of climates and soil types, on almost any kind of land. Farmers like harvesting hemp plants because their potential is easily maximized for grain and fiber. It is naturally resistant to most pests, and grows very tightly spaced allowing it to out-compete most weeds.

Hemp has a short grow season, that allows more of the plant to be produced in a smaller amount of time. It’s also known to “reset” the soil, so many farmers will use the plant to replenish soil between other crops.

Unlike many crops, hemp puts little strain on the soil and requires only moderate amounts of fertilizer. Less fertilizer use results in less runoff into waterways and groundwater, therefore resulting in less water pollution.

Care to hear a crazy fact on hemp? No tree or plant species on Earth has the commercial, economic and environmental potential of hemp. Over 300,000 known products can be produced from hemp.

  • Hemp is one of the most versatile, sustainable crops on the planet. It has the potential to green many industries.
  • Hemp has the ability to replace any object made from petroleum-based plastic.
  • Hemp building materials are better for the environment, our health and our wallets in the long run.
  • You can aid in the hemp revolution by seeking out brands that offer products made from hemp, and by consuming less plastic in general.
  • CBD isn’t just great for the health of people – it’s great for the health of the planet.

How to Monitor Your CBD Intake [Ultimate Guide 2020]

Cannabis CBD extraction capsules infused with shatter and CBD oil isolated over black background

CBD is a wonderful natural supplement that is gaining popularity worldwide for its numerous health benefits and non-intoxicating properties. People from all walks of life are seeing its immense potential and are implementing it into their daily lives.

But, with all the buzz around CBD has come lots of misinformation as well. The correct dosage amount for CBD varies by who you ask, but once you’ve read our CBD Dosing Guide and have picked the best product for you, how do you keep track of your intake and progress?

Tracking medication is something many are already long accustomed to and have created personalized systems for. But for some of us, this can be a challenge. Here are some tips for tracking your CBD intake to help optimize the supplement for your personal needs.

Take a Pill

Most of us take a pill of some sort every day. In fact, a new study says that 55% of Americans take at least one prescription medication daily, with an average of four different medications. Whether it be a simple multivitamin, a lady’s birth control, or an important medication for a lifelong battle, most medications are meant to be taken daily.

Since we are already in the habit, it makes sense for some to take their CBD in pill or capsule form. This is an easy way to add CBD to your daily routine.

In fact, many seniors who utilize day-of-the-week pill cases have found it easy to simply add a CBD capsule for each day of the week.

Location, Location, Location

Setting your CBD next to something else you reach for every day, like your coffee maker or your toothbrush, is a simple way to make sure you don’t miss a day. Adding new elements to our routines can take practice to remember, so placing your CBD next to something you use daily is a perfect reminder.

Keep a CBD Journal or List

We tend to think of list-makers as the ultra-organized Type-A people who have their whole lives meticulously detailed, but the truth is we can all benefit from a little conscious list making.

When my grandmother was diagnosed with high blood pressure and had to start taking her blood pressure at home every day, she had to keep a list of the date and numbers for her doctor. Think of tracking your CBD in the same way. This is an especially great idea if you are toying with different milligram amounts or various types of CBD products.

Pay Attention to the Details

Keeping a more detailed journal of your intake and your symptoms can help you find the perfect balance of CBD for your needs. For example, if you are taking CBD for anxiety conditions, it may be important to note whether you experienced a panic attack that day. Or if you are taking it for chronic pain, you can note down how much CBD you took. Noting the amount you took and your current pain level can help you with determining the proper dosing information.

Noting external factors, such as physical activity, your mental state, among other things may be important variables to consider when determining your intake.

Notice New Sensations

When noting the details, try to think outside the box and list any symptoms you have felt throughout the day, even ones that may seem unrelated. Perhaps you are taking CBD for pain, but have noticed that you have more energy throughout the day. U.S. Senate Votes To Legalize Hemp Farming [Ultimate Guide 2020]

If you are confused on the whole hemp legalization thing, you are not alone.

In this post, we are bringing you the most recent news regarding the legalization of hemp farming in the United States.

Wait a minute. What is hemp, and what does it have to do with CBD?

Hemp is the strain of the cannabis plant which contains copious amounts of beloved CBD. CBD has been helping people and pets everywhere by relieving symptoms of chronic pain, inflammation, mood disorders, lack of appetite, and more. CBD can come in a variety of great products, such as quality CBD oils, tinctures, edibles, vapes, and more.

In short, hemp is our friend, and doesn’t just help cover our CBD needs. Hemp can greatly reduce our carbon footprint by replacing plastics, paper, building materials, clothing, and more. Not to mention, the crop is great for nourishing soil, further benefiting crops and agriculture all around.

That said, let’s get to the status of hemp farming:

The Gist

Thanks to a vote from the U.S. Senate, the new and improved Farm Bill, labeled the Farming Act of 2018, would allow for legal cultivation, processing and sale of industrial hemp.

Here is what happened:

U.S. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky lobbied for the United States Senate to pass legislation to end hemp prohibition in the Spring of 2018, and he succeeded, allowing farmers across the nation to cultivate as much hemp as they please, legally.

This will be a serious game-changer for farmers across the U.S. According to the Hemp Farming Act of 2018, industrial hemp would be viewed, and regulated, the same way an agricultural crop is, meaning that it has been removed from the Schedule 1 drug category of the Controlled Substances Act.

This is a major breakthrough for the CBD industry, and a significant improvement from the 2014 Farm Bill that was signed by President Obama. The 2014 Farm Bill legalized the growing of hemp for research purposes only, allowing institutions like state departments and universities to legally grow and cultivate the hemp plant. However, no one else was really allowed to legally grow and cultivate hemp.

The Hemp Farming Act of 2018

Now, the proposed Hemp Farming Act of 2018 is classifying hemp ingredients (including CBD) as an agricultural commodity, removing any previous roadblocks to the growth of the highly beneficial hemp plant across the United States.

What does this mean?

Since the bill has been passed, hemp formulated into food and beverages is now considered agricultural ingredients. This constitutes CBD as an agricultural commodity, opening up a whole new world for farmers, manufacturers, medical professionals, and consumers.

If the U.S. House of Representatives joins the senate in passing the legalization of hemp farming across the United States, we could see a true agricultural revolution. This could lead to more effective farming and production methods, and could potentially lower the cost of CBD and hemp products.

To date, 34 states have defined industrial hemp as “distinct and removed barriers” to its production, including Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

The FDA has approved the first cannabis-derived prescription medication for epilepsy. This approval is a major stride in the CBD industry, and federal agencies are reportedly on schedule to remove CBD from the Schedule 1 drug status at the federal level. In translation, this CBD pharmaceutical would then be legally sold nationwide.

  • The  Hemp  Farming  Act of 2018  was proposed to successfully  remove  hemp  from Schedule I controlled substances, making it an ordinary agricultural commodity.
  • This is a major breakthrough for the CBD industry, and removed any previous roadblocks to the growth of the highly beneficial hemp plant across the United States.
  • Although CBD is legal, certain restrictions on it can vary by state.
  • CBD is non-psychoactive and does not produce the “high” that is associated with the consumption of cannabis.

CBD May Help with Autism [Ultimate Guide 2020]

Can CBD Treat Autism?

CBD may very well be a viable treatment for autism, a neurodevelopmental condition that affects 1% of people worldwide.

To better understand how CBD’s potential in treating autistic children, let’s provide an overview of what autism is, and how it is currently being treated.

What is Autism?

Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. While treatment can help people with autism, the condition cannot be cured (as of current).

It is often referred to as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), referring to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication, all of which impacts the nervous system.

The range and severity of symptoms of autism can vary widely, with common symptoms including difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interactions, obsessive interests, and repetitive behaviors. Autism is typically developed in infancy or early toddlerhood.

How is Autism Being Treated?

Early recognition (it is typical for signs of autism to not show up until a child is 2 years of age), along with behavioral, educational and family therapies may reduce symptoms and support development and learning.

Doctors traditionally treat symptoms of autism with anti-psychotic medications, which often have harmful side effects. Some children don’t respond at all to the medications, causing even more feelings of helplessness for the parents.

Scientists agree that the earlier in life a child receives early intervention services, the better the child’s prognosis. But still, the odds have not been in autistic children’s behavior with traditional medications, which is why CBD treatment for autism is so intriguing.

The cause of autism is still largely unknown. Some people have blamed vaccinations, while others believe no vaccinations to be the culprit, and others yet claim certain food and beverages are linked to autism. The condition is more prevalent in males than females, which is also a fact without understanding.

What we do know is that CBD treatment for autism may be an incredible thing, spoken both from scientific studies and from parents of autistic children who have shown signs of improvement upon taking CBD.

We take a look at one study in particular, which shows promising results linking CBD to the improvement of autistic children’s health and behavior.

80% of Autistic Children Saw Improvement From CBD

A fascinating study indicates CBD could be a promising treatment for children with autism, reporting that “conditions in 80% of children improved,” all of whom had not shown improvement with conventional drug therapies.

The study was led by the director of pediatric neurology at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital, where Dr. Adi Aran treated the 60 autistic children part of the study with a high concentration of CBD oil (20% CBD, 1% THC). The children were given the CBD oil for 7 months.

After the treatment period was over, parents of the children answered assessment questionnaires to characterize their child’s condition, in terms of overall behavior. The questions revolved around behavioral change, the ability to communicate and shifts in anxiety levels.

Here is what the parents reported:

  • 80% of parents noted a decrease in problematic behaviors
  • 62% of parents reported “significant improvements” in their child’s behavior
  • 30 out of 60 children had improved communication
  • 40% of parents reported “significant decreases” in anxiety

The Connection Between Autism and Epilepsy

While less than 2% of the general population has epilepsy, nearly 33% of people with autism also suffer from epilepsy, giving medical professionals headway to conduct further research on CBD and autism.

Earlier this year, the FDA approved the first ever cannabis medication for children, a CBD-based medication called Epidiolex, which treats rare forms of epilepsy. One study (so far) has found Epidiolex reduces seizures in patients by 42%.

The thought is that as doctors and parents begin to see positive results from the CBD-based medication on epileptic children, they will begin delving further into the research on CBD.

  • CBD is showing promise as a treatment for autistic individuals
  • Treatment may help individuals with autism, but there is no current cure for the condition
  • Typical treatment for autism consists of medication, therapy, and counseling
  • The FDA has approved CBD medication for epilepsy; more CBD medication will surely be approved in the near future

Who Should Take CBD? Is CBD for Everyone? [Ultimate Guide 2020]

To answer directly, anyone and everyone can take CBD. From children and teenagers, to adults and seniors, and even pets! However, it is important to explain the reasons why some people may be incorporating CBD into their day-to-day lives.

CBD, more formally regarded to as cannabidiol, is a safe and highly beneficial cannabinoid found in the cannabis and hemp plants. It has been gaining more praise for its therapeutic and medical benefits, in addition to its non-intoxicating nature (meaning it cannot get you “high”). Not to mention, it is all natural.

Advocates of the therapeutic cannabinoid have stated that they have experienced a significant decrease in pain, anxiety, depression, stress and more. CBD is also commonly used to boost focus, productivity, and mood. CBD is significantly easing pain, anxiety, depression, stress, and more. Research also suggests that CBD can be used to boost focus and productivity, while improving immune system function by reducing inflammation.

People of all ages can take CBD as a health supplement to ease a variety of ailments and discomforts. CBD is an ideal replacement for a majority of prescription medications. One key difference, however, is the fact that CBD is all-natural, so it doesn’t have the nasty side effects that are commonly experienced with most prescription medication.

CBD For Kids

Should my kid take CBD?

Kids are being given CBD to treat more severe conditions, such as epilepsy. Research and consumer feedback suggests that CBD is very successful in treating seizures.  CBD oil can also be used to treat autism, ADHD, depression, and anxiety in kids. To be safe, however, you should always speak with your doctor before giving your child CBD.

How much CBD to take is a whole other concept. If you are unsure of how much CBD you should give your child, it is recommended that you start small and increase dosage as needed. However, because CBD is plant-based and non-psychoactive, it won’t affect a child’s brain the way THC (the psychoactive component of the cannabis plant) would. In some states, THC levels are limited in CBD products, and cannot exceed anymore than 0.3% of the product, so be sure to check your CBD products before buying. Note that this limit may not exist in states where medical and recreational marijuana is legal.

That being said, the CBD-to-THC ratio may differ based on what the child is taking CBD for. For example, if a 10-year-old girl is taking CBD to lessen her seizures, her CBD product may contain more trace amounts of THC. Whereas an 8-year-old boy taking CBD for his ADHD may use a CBD product with little to no amounts of THC levels.

There has been an increasing number of success stories for children and CBD as it continues to be recognized as the beneficial compound it is. Many parents have shared how CBD has lessened their children’s seizures, helped their anxiety, and more.

CBD For Adults

Adults take CBD for various amount of different reasons. CBD can help relieve stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. CBD is also a powerful anti-inflammatory aagent, and can help with digestive issues like leaky gut and Crohn’s Disease, to other inflammatory conditions like eczema and arthritis.

CBD is most often administered to children in the forms of CBD oil or tincture, but adults have access to CBD’s many forms, including oils, tinctures, topical creams, capsules, vape pens and more.

Many adults view CBD as an excellent health supplement, and take it daily for clarity, focus, or during nights for a better night’s sleep. Adults also take CBD for more specific conditions, such as seizures, endometriosis, cancer, chronic pain, and more. CBD has proven itself to be a very beneficial treatment for all.

CBD For Seniors

We all know that health issues plague senior citizens more than any other age group. But what if we told you that CBD could make the aches and pains of aging much easier to manage?

Studies indicate that CBD could have great potential for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, and cancer treatment with CBD is perhaps one of the most exciting possibilities in CBD research. In addition to this, arthritis and other joint and muscle pain are some of the most common uses for CBD. Women have also began using CBD to treat menopause and other issues, such as cramps and menstruation.

As you age, taking CBD as a daily health supplement could help ward off these and other conditions. CBD allows your body to stay in check and keep things running optimally.

To gain a better understanding of how CBD works, check out this post  on how CBD is distributed throughout the body by the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

If you are considering giving CBD to your child, please consult your doctor before making any decisions on your own. While CBD has proven to be safe (and highly effective) for kids who have a need for it, it is still wise to check in with your MD as you are introducing a brand new supplement into your child’s body.

If you are wondering if CBD is right for you, be sure to research the brand or product you are looking to purchase to ensure the company complies with the safest manufacturing processes.

  • CBD is safe for people of all ages.
  • The cannabinoid is used for a variety of reasons, and can help treat chronic pain, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, inflammation, and more.
  • CBD is safe for children, but it is always recommended that you speak with your doctor before giving your child CBD.

Cancer & CBD [Ultimate Guide 2020]

Cannabidiol (CBD), the main non-psychoactive chemical compound found in cannabis, has been gaining praise recently for its long list of medical benefits. People suffering from physical pain, anxiety, depression, IBS, and other conditions are finding relief through the use of CBD. Research also suggests that CBD could help cancer patients in various ways.

A recent study concluded that CBD given to mice with pancreatic cancer nearly tripled their survival rate compared to those not given CBD.

CBD could be the next big thing in cancer treatment. It has the potential to increase chances of survival and ease the painful symptoms and side effects of traditional cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy.

“From a medical perspective, CBD is the most promising cannabinoid in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids like CBD interact with the body’s Endocannabinoid System, or ECS, which is made up of cell receptors found throughout the human body – from our brains and organ tissues to our digestive and nervous systems – the Endocannabinoid System is responsible for regulating sleep, mood, appetite and immune function.”

From a medical perspective, CBD is the most promising cannabinoid in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids like CBD interact with the body’s Endocannabinoid System, or ECS. The ECS is made up of cell receptors found throughout the human body. Our brains, organs, digestive system, and nervous system all depend on the ECS for regulating sleep, mood, appetite, and immune function.

To summarize, the ECS promotes and maintains homeostasis, or “balance” within our bodies, keeping us happy, healthy and stable. CBD can cause a cascade of positive changes in a variety of systems throughout the body depending on the dosage and receptor that CBD interacts with.

Here are 5 more reasons CBD is great for cancer patients.

1. CBD May Stop Tumor Growth

Studies show that CBD can inhibit tumor growth, kill cancer cells and prevent more cancer cells from spreading.

In addition to the pain-relieving effects CBD has on cancer-associated symptoms, a large body of evidence shows that the compound can decrease tumor growth in animal models of cancer. It does this by modulating key cell signalling pathways involved in the control of cancer cell proliferation and survival.

2. CBD May Make Chemotherapy More Effective

Research shows CBD can make chemotherapy more effective when the two join forces. Cannabis has proven itself for years as an effective treatment for multiple forms of cancer. Those suffering from breast cancer, liver cancer, and leukemia have found relief from chemotherapy thanks to the use of cannabis. CBD could embody the same positive results that cannabis has had on cancer patients in the past.

CBD may help those suffering from cancer by controlling appetite, reducing feelings of nausea, vomiting, and swelling (people’s hands and feet tend to swell during chemotherapy). In addition to these, it could aid in neuropathic pain and could promote emotional health.

3. CBD Can Help with Cancer-Related Pain

CBD is well-known for its incredible pain-relieving properties. Cancer, no matter what kind, tends to cause some kind of pain. This pain is often unbearable and very frustrating for cancer patients. Typically, the pain is a result of treatments such as chemotherapy.

A study on patients with advanced cancer pain – despite chronic opioid dosing (a typical drug for pain) – found that patients experienced a reduction in cancer related pain of more than 3o percent when given a THC:CBD extract.

4. CBD Can Aid with Cancer-Related Depression

CBD is also widely known for its anti-anxiety and anti-depression effects. Patients can become depressed after being diagnosed with cancer. Often times cancer patients will feel hopeless as a result of their diagnosis. Not knowing the outcome or stage of cancer that they are in contributes to even more grief.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in four cancer patients struggle with clinical depression. Depression can negatively affect the  recovery process. CBD can help these individuals by improving mood and lessening the symptoms of sadness and depression following chemotherapy.

One study in particular found that a combination of THC and CBD produced antidepressant-like results in mice. Another study  from Washington State University, found that participants reported a 50 percent reduction in symptoms of depression while using a high CBD/low THC product.

5. CBD and Chemotherapy Induced Symptoms

Nausea can be one of the most challenging and unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy. It can also be one of the most difficult symptoms to treat.

CBD can help patients better manage chemotherapy induced symptoms. It has the power to help regulate nausea, vomiting, and other digestive issues that cancer patients experience.

Another common side effect of chemotherapy is appetite. Many cancer paitnets struggle with a serious lack of appetite during chemotherapy treatment. CBD can help increase appetite by “fooling the brain’s central feeding system,” while activating a group of neurons called POMC, or proopiomelanocortin, to help stimulate appetite and stop weight loss.

  • CBD has the potential to successfully treat a host of health issues, including cancer.
  • Numerous claims have been made saying CBD has the potential to be one of the most effective treatments for cancer on the market.
  • CBD can help with the cancer-related pain induced by chemotherapy.
  • CBD can aid with symptoms of anxiety and depression that often follow cancer diagnosis.
  • CBD has proven to be an excellent anti-nauseating agent, and can increase appetite, helping cancer patients maintain their weight.
